March 5 - March 26

Kyle is 11 months today!! We are exactly one month away from the big 1 year birthday!!! Kyle's season is Spring and we are so glad that it has arrived in North Carolina. We have already been having a great time enjoying the sunny, warm, fun Spring days.

Karl and Kyle's Easter basket...do you know which one belongs to Kyle and which belongs to Karl???

Carrying on the Bayer tradition, Kyle had to find his hidden Easter basket. It didn't take him too long. He enjoyed all the things the Easter bunny left him.

We had such a wonderful Easter gathering with some of our friends. Isn't the setting for these pictures beautiful?? This is our friends', Jason, Mary and Matthew, backyard.

Some "bunny" loves all these little babies!
Kyle got to experience two Easter egg hunts before Easter day. These pictures are from Cheryl (mom) and Liza's (baby) house. Surprisingly, all of the babies (even the two walkers), except for one, just sat in the spot their moms put them in, even Kyle! Once the first few babies realized they could open these eggs and find food (puffs, cheerios, goldfish), it was a feeding frenzy! Lots of pictures but I took so many that it was hard to choose just a few to share!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! This day is very special to Karl and me since it was the day we met AND the day he proposed. We met 9 years ago and got engaged 5 years ago on St. Patrick's Day. Once again, I wore the same green shirt I was wearing the day Karl and I met. I have worn that same shirt EVERY St. Patrick's Day for the past 9 years. We celebrated by going to a green themed playgroup (Kyle and me) and having a nice dinner out alone (Karl and me)!
This Easter egg hunt was at Pullen Park. (same Pullen Park that was shown and talked about when Kyle was just a few months old) This was a party/egg hunt for the ENTIRE mom group I am a part of...not just the babies! We had a great time "hunting" for eggs and hanging out with all of our baby, mommy, and daddy friends.

Kyle has really gotten into puppets lately and must have thought the Easter bunny was one giant puppet. He laughed SO much while sitting on her lap! When she would move her hand we'd get a great giggle out of him!

Another birthday playgroup....Kyle enjoyed crawling up and down these huge wedges!
Kyle is modeling his aviator onesie for the girls at playgroup.
Yes, this is a Jacksonville University (Karl's college) shirt that Valerie, a friend of ours up here (she also went to JU), got her hands on!!!
Kyle absolutely loves looking out this window. Our neighbor told us that she looks for him in the morning and evenings as she is coming and going. If Karl or I are leaving or returning we always look up from our cars and wave to him if we see him looking out the window. Every morning Kyle and I watch the cars leaving for work. He especially loves it when the school buses go by! When he hears them or hears me say school bus or sees them, he crawls over and takes a long look!
A thoughtful moment....
Hanging out with the buddies...Alex and Kyle....
Taylor, Matthew, Alex, and Kyle....
Matthew, Taylor, Alex, and Kyle....where did Savannah go???
So many toys, so little time....by the way, this is Mary and Matthew (of the Easter pics, gorgeous backyard mentioned above).

So, this has become a favorite picture of many people. This "tunnel" is Kyle's house. This has been one of the best and most used items. It flattens out and makes an activity mat that Kyle used to, first, just look at and then, later, grab and kick at the hanging parts when he was a little baby. In fact, his first time using it was May 16, ten days before he was one month old. I am sure I have pictures of it on our site here. Anyway, it converts to this wonderful tunnel that Kyle uses every day. He crawls through it, he sits in it, he pulls the hanging fish, mirror, and ball from it, he pushes it over until it is sideways or completely upside down, he lifts the bottom parts up while sitting inside it, and, best of all, he plays peekaboo and flashes that winning smile from inside it.....sigh.....gotta love it! :)
