Merry Christmas, Karl!

Poor Karl had to spend the day working at the airport on the busiest days before Christmas...December 22 and 23. He'll also be working Christmas Eve and Christmas night. Here he is relaxing by the tree.....checking out if Santa has brought him anything yet.

22 weeks and 3 days...belly keeps on growing!

These shots were taken on December 23, 2006. Our son has become quite active during the past several weeks. Karl and I first felt him move on the outside December 5. Just last night I saw my stomach bulge out as he moved a hand, leg, head, something against my stomach! What an amazing feeling it is!

Christmas Decorations 2006

Here are pictures of our decorated house! I am just imagining all of the wrapping paper that will be all over these lovely decorations next Christmas!

Birthday Cake!

The cake I made for my birthday...kinda weird to make your own cake but this is one I can only make during the holidays so I told Karl that I wanted to make it. He made a wonderful dinner of flank steak, real mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and salad that we enjoyed with a couple from our neighborhood. It was a wonderful birthday!

First Outfits

Here are the first outfits Karl and I bought after our doctor's appointment.

It's a BOY!!!

Karl and I found out on November 30th that we are having a little boy! Right after our doctor's appointment, we went to Kohl's and bought our first boy clothes. We are both SO thrilled to be having a son! Everyone's predictions were right! (He is moving low in my belly as I type this. He must know that his mommy is thinking of him right now....as if I am ever not...or it could be that he is enjoying the spaghetti and salad mom ate a little while ago. Just like his dad!)

Karl's New Best Friend

Karl met Bobby Bowden, head coach of the Florida State University football team when they flew into RDU for the NC State vs. FSU game.

Furniture has arrived...looks like a complete house now!

We finally got the furniture we ordered from High Point, NC, "furniture capital of the world," back in August. It is so great to finally have stuff on our first floor! It felt so empty walking in to all the open space!

14 weeks!

The first trimester is over with! I am hoping that I may have been blessed with a calm, easygoing baby because I have had a calm, easygoing pregnancy so far. The doctor said this past Friday that it seems like I am having a normal, boring pregnancy. I told her I would take boring over anything right now. Of course, for Karl and me, not a single day of this pregnancy has been boring! I am constantly reading about Baby Bayer's development and daily belly growth checks have become routine. It seems like my belly popped out almost right away! Does this mean a big baby like Karl was???? I have a picture of my belly from 3 weeks ago but will wait and add a picture on here when Karl has a moment to take another pic. We heard the heartbeat for the first time at this past appointment. It was a nice, strong, steady 150 beats per minute! We are scheduled to find out if Baby Bayer is a boy or girl on November 30th! Anyone else want to throw their predictions in???

Happy Graduation!

YAY!!! Graduation night finally came! We had dinner at Buca di Beppo (same place as the rehearsal dinner from our wedding) and then on to the graduation ceremony! The next morning, Karl, my brother John, and I headed to Raleigh, car loaded down for the last time, way too early in the morning after I spent the night out with friends....3:30ish bedtime for me and a 4:30ish wake up call...yawn! I slept just about to the South and North Carolina border even though I had about a 2 foot space to sit in!

Graduation/Moving Party

The luau we had to celebrate our final move and my graduation was a lot of fun! We had a great time dancing, doing the limbo, eating, watching fireworks (thanks, Matt), while spending time with friends and family!
