Kyle and Karl flew down to Florida this morning to see Ingrid, Chloe, Oma, and Opa for a long weekend so I had to take some time to add our latest pictures! January was a mixture of unusually warm days but then it ended with a great snowy weekend!!! This first month of the new year was a wonderful one for the Bayer family!

December 25, 2009 - January 11, 2010

The new year is off to a great start so far! I have resolved to update more regularly on here so that I don't end up with a day long project of posting pictures after a month or more has gone by. I haven't had my camera around us much lately so not too many pictures so far but here are some of the things we have been up to lately.

This was the very last gift Kyle opened on Christmas day (from Aunt Ingrid). He said he wasn't going to open it until it was sunny out but sometime around 7:30 Christmas night he quietly went over to it and opened it. Fortunately my camera was still out from the festivities earlier in the day so I was able to get pics of him opening this last gift.
Kyle was ready to take it upstairs and start playing immediately!
This has been such a great gift for Kyle. He loves building towers with his mega blocks but would get frustrated when they would fall down on the carpet. So, he started building them on the table. However, they would also fall down from there and take up the whole space so he could never leave them and come back to it later. The mega blocks table has solved all those problems for him! He (and Karl) are now able to build huge towers that reach far into the sky with little fear of them falling down. And even better than that, he can leave it right there and come back to it later.

Santa listened to Kyle's request and brought him more Barney (coloring books, CD, and books). Oh, and he did bring socks to Kyle since he did ask for them.

Christmas was finally done a couple days later when we went to Uncle John's house. Waiting for him there were a HUGE dump truck and loader!!! Kyle definitely loves these!!!

We got a great deal on preschool games at the beginning of November. The ones he got for Christmas were Candy Land, Don't Break the Ice, and Hi Ho Cherry-O. Candy Land was too long for him so it has been put away for a while. Don't Break the Ice is great fun because, well, he gets to bang stuff. Not only does he get to bang but he is strongly encouraged to. He likes to make the little animal guy come our right away though so the game doesn't last very long. Hi Ho Cherry-O is the one game that is perfect for him right now! He gets exactly how to play it and loves it!

So hard to caputure these moments on camera with our busy little man.

This building set is called Trio. It reminds me a bit of math snap cubes with extra parts. It has a book that shows you various things you can make and it didn't take long for us to start building every single thing in the book. In this set of pictures we are working on making the crab.
He thought it was hilarious when the crab would "pinch" him.

All snuggled up in our reading area ready to read our book about New Year's Day. Of course his favorite animals had to join us.

Rr week....rainbows, rainbows, rainbows.....Kyle placed M&Ms on the parts of the rainbow that matched the M&M color. He then counted how many of each M&M color there was and then he finally ate them.

Same idea with fruit loops, only we glued these on then he counted ten from the bag to eat.

Kyle got this train set from us on his second birthday. He plays with it almost every single day..loves it!

Just before climbing over the side of the couch...

Kyle is in touch with his feminine side...all the other kids there at this time were girls and they were all putting on dresses so Kyle just had to join in. He didn't take it off the entire time we were there.

Trying out a new indoor park in town...not too long after this picture he got knocked down pretty hard by some older kids running around. It scared him pretty bad but he was okay.

Doing Pilates with me....he asks to exercise with me every day...good accountablility partner! :)
