The Bayer family just got back from vacationing with friends at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. After loading all of those pictures, which I will be posting in the upcoming days, I realized I had a lot of pictures from the past month and a half that hadn't been posted. So, here they are!

Kyle and several of his buddies began a FREE four week gymnastics class the week before we went on vacation. They let the kids explore all of the gym equipment and even bring several of the pieces down to their level. I am sure they are offering this free to entice us parents into signing up for classes later for our budding gymnasts. The kids really had a great time and it wore them out, making them ready for a long nap.

Our budding baseball player....so far he has shown more promise in hitting than pitching, Ingrid.

My brother, Jacob, who lives in Thailand, has recently traveled back to the states for about 6 months. He had to be in Richmond, VA for some training a few weekends ago so Kyle and I made the 2.5 hour drive up there to spend the weekend with him. We will get to see his wife and two daughters in October.

While in Richmond we took Kyle to the Richmond Children's Museum. Think he liked it?

One of the moms here suggested we go to this place across town called Planet Child. It is half priced admission between 1:00 and 3:00. Kyle and I made it there at about 2:55...whew! This place has several areas to it that allow kids to explore their creative sides with imaginary play. The various areas include: dress up theater, kitchen, grocery store, trains, pets, underwater, ship, safari, etc. We were there for about an hour and a half playing and Kyle could have easily stayed longer. His favorite thing was the kitchen, especially putting the pizza in and out of the oven.

Sticking his tongue out...his new thing. If you ask him where his tongue is he will promptly stick it out as far as possible.

I found this child sized cookware set on clearance at Target a while ago. Karl said Kyle wouldn't be that interested in it and that I should return it. I didn't, but I didn't open it right away. I knew how much Kyle loved watching us cook so I figured he would really like his own set of cookware. So, one evening while we were making supper, Kyle was getting a bit cranky. He was hungry and wanted to be held so that he could watch us. Sometimes we'll get the step ladder out, if one of us is not too busy to watch him, but we couldn't this night because we were both cooking. So, going a bit crazy because his usual kitchen toys weren't occupying him, I convinced Karl that the toy cookware set would solve our problems. Needless to say, I was right....and Karl was quick to say so!!! :) Kyle LOVES playing with his cookware and we don't mind the loud noise it makes on our floors.....most of the time...

Karl decided that it would be fun for Kyle to try out this mega shopping cart while getting groceries at Lowe's. He was right....Kyle loved it!

Like father, like son....those who know Karl well know that he loves to have a spoon in his mouth. After eating ice cream, peanut butter, cereal, etc. he will often hold onto the spoon and suck on it a while. Well, after tasting a sample of something from the deli, Kyle wasn't ready to part with his spoon either. Sigh...could they have anything more in common???? :)

The first family we met in our moms' group bought a house recently and had us over for a house warming party. She has a great yard and all the kids loved playing outside in it.
