Kyle was excited to check out the new swing across from our house. The last one broke and it took quite some time for it to be replaced.
One of the last activities for our "C" week was making cookies. Kyle was very excited about this activity!
"Cc" is also for cars, cotton balls, and counting. Kyle counted out ten cars then dropped them one by one into the container, listening to the sound each one made. He then counted out ten cotton balls and did the same. We then discussed the different sounds that were made, loud and soft, by each item.
We focused a lot on dinosaurs during our "Dd" week so we took a trip to the science museum in Durham to see the dinosaur exhibit they just reopened this summer. It was our first visit to this museum and we LOVED it! They have a great indoor/outdoor mix of things and the place is so child friendly but in a way that appeals to children of many ages. This picture was taken in the weather area.
Kyle LOVED making music by going "boom boom" on all of the drums, chimes, and other items hanging around for the kids to hit.
Alex, Taylor, their moms and baby sisters went with us, too. We've been with these kids, and several others, since they were around three months old. We've all come so far together!
We hadn't had a big play group at our house in a while so we were excited to have so many friends over to make t-shirts. Some of the kids chose to go with a more abstract approach while others enjoyed using stencils. Kyle used stencils to make a construction vehicle themed shirt.
Remember how we "boom boomed" at the museum? Well, a few days later, during breakfast, Kyle asked for "more boom boom." I asked if he wanted to make music like he did at the museum and he said, "oh yes!" So, while he finished I set up this little station using things around the house. Kyle went around and banged on each one. After he banged on it he moved it off the coffee table.
He enjoyed "boom booming" so much that he wanted to try it with other items. So, he chose several things and continued "boom booming" all morning!
