Florida Vacation

We had our first family vacation August 24 - September 2...10 days total!!! We flew into Pensacola, Florida where we visited with Karl's parents and friends for 3 nights. We then rented a car and drove along the coast (Hwy 98) to Carrabelle, Florida (tiny town south of Tallahassee) where we visited my grandma and other distant relatives and friends for 3 nights. Kyle went to the beach for the first time there! We stopped in Tallahassee so that my Unce Randall could meet Kyle then headed on to Jacksonville for 3 nights. Most of my former colleagues got to meet Kyle. Kyle's Aunt Ingrid came to town to see him again also. We then went to Rachel's wedding rehearsal/dinner and wedding ceremony/reception. We ended our trip with a visit with Karl's friends from the airport in Jacksonville. We took an early flight home on Sunday and are glad to be back home! Overall, Kyle did very well on this long trip! The only major meltdown was on day 8 at the weddding! Now that we are back, Kyle has moved out of our room and into his crib! Hopefully it will be an easy transition!

4 month check up

Kyle went to the doctor for his 4 month check up yesterday (he turns 4 months on Saturday, the 26th). He now weighs 15 pounds 13 ounces, which puts him in the 75th percentile for weight, and he is 26.5 inches tall, which means he is in the 95th percentile for height. More and more like his daddy every day! We decided to get his next set of immunizations after Labor Day so that we didn't have to worry about side effects while we are in Florida.

Reading time with mommy!

"Please excuse me if I hang up on you. I'm just starting to figure out this phone thing."

Mr. Turtle...my old friend...

"Now, Kyle, let me tell what it is like to be 6 months old."

I finally am enjoying my exersaucer...look how well I can stand in it!

An alphabet caterpillar...what a fun way to learn!

SURPRISE... a visit from mommy's parents and sister

So exhausted...just gotta sleep....

"Eli, what are you doing sleeping when I'm here to play with you?"

August 10-11

Mommy and Daddy had a cook out for five of my friends and their mommies and daddies. Can you find me in this picture?

Finally, the daddies joined us for play time!

Miss Taylor and I are getting to know each other better!
"What do you want, dad?"
"Huh, you want me to do what?"
"I've gotta think about it."

August 4 - 9

Hanging out at the library, checking out the babies...

Do I look like my daddy now???

Balancing myself on my play table! My legs sure are getting strong.
Trying to beat the heat....100+ degrees this week!
I think I'll taste...I mean, read this book while mommy changes my diaper.
We had a lot of babies and mommies at my house this week! I am definitely not the youngest one now!

Look, Uncle John, I'm getting started on my musical talent now!

I'm not so vain...

I want to eat the mirror, not look at myself in it.

Such a hard day...I need to relax now.
