First days at home

Our first night home with Kyle, Saturday April 28, went quite well. We got up and fed every 3-4 hours and were able to sleep well in between feedings. I got up the next day (Sunday, April 29) feeling pretty good. Things changed quickly! Feedings, poops, and pees didn't happen quite as regularly and the night was a disaster! Kyle did not stop crying, peeing, pooping, eating/attempting to eat from about 1:30 until 6:45 when grandma (his great-grandma) rescued us by doing what we hadn't done for hours....getting him to sleep for more than 5 minutes! Today has been a very good day and all has gone back to "normal." Night is upon us now so we will see how it goes!

More hospital pictures

Our stay at the hospital ended on Saturday, April 28th around 2:00 PM. What a moment it was to realize that all of the help you knew was around for you was about to be gone and that real life...just Kyle and us... was about to officially begin!

Day 2 has been going well so far...Kyle is sleeping as I type this and Karl has just walked in the room after getting the car seat checked out again. We got bits and pieces of sleep but are going on adrenaline now! These pictures were taken this morning.

He has arrived!!

Kyle Edward Bayer
was born at 7:06 PM weighing in at 9 pounds 2 ounces and 21 1/4 inches long! It was such an amazing experience which I am at a loss of words to describe. It truely is a life changing event. He is doing well and Susan is recovering also.

Moving along...

Susan is a real trooper and hanging in there. At 3:00PM she was about 4-5 cm and about 90 precent thinned out. I am thinking he will be born by 8:00PM . Thank you for all of your well wishes and I will try to keep the site updated.

At the hospital!

We arrived at the hospital at about 0845AM and are all checked-in. Susan is doing well and the room is very comfortable. Dr. Gunter (aka Dr. Burke) we call him that because he reminds us of him on Grey's Anatomy, broke her water at 1015AM and we are on the way. We will try to keep it updated throughout the day.

Evening before D DAY!

So, our little guy is due tomorrow, April 25, and as of the evening of April 24, no definite signs that he is ready to make his entrance on his due date! We head to the doctor midday tomorrow to find out the latest....he has been moving along, getting closer and closer to finding that eject button, as Karl says, but has yet to completely find it yet! So, until we have more news to share, enjoy the pictures of his room that were taken today and the most recent pictures of my belly, I mean, me, taken yesterday!

Game ball from Uncle Ryan Houston....a prized posession!

Our friend, Valerie, has completed our room with all of these great little touches! She made the pictures hanging on the wall, this mobile hanging from the wall, and she redid the floral printed rocking chair to match his room! She is still working on fixing the ottoman that goes with the chair. Awesome job, Valerie, thanks a bunch!! We love it all!

April 23, 2007 - 39 weeks and 5 days
We moved his pack and play (his first bed) into our room today with hopes that it will prompt him to come into the world so that he can sleep in it! :)

March 17, 2007 - Forgot to post these!

These were taken on St. Patrick's Day as Karl and I were about to head out and celebrate the anniversary of the day we met and the day he proposed to me at Walt Disney World. We met 8 years ago on this day and got engaged 4 years ago on the same day! I was 33 weeks 3 days pregnant in these pictures.

Spring Break week

Ingrid and Ryan came to town during my Spring Break week. The Syracuse Chiefs were playing their first games against the Durham Bulls this week so it was a week of baseball, food, and fun for us all!
